I am gay/out/ happy and don't really hide it. How do I get by, when there's opposition?

I usually just ignore it , but if it really bothers me I'll call them out on it, and get a little snippy. I think it's probably best to go with how you feel at the time, since emotions change. Good luck, don't let it bother you too much, though I know it's kind of hard. There will always be someone to hate on us, but there's going to be people who love us too so it's all basically good.
