Is endocarditis hereditary?

I am sure that my best friend has this condition. I also believe that his father had it. He told me hes had blood in his urine for a long time. He told me that his father had blood in his urine too but they could never find out what was wrong. My best friend also has really bad teeth and even when he goes to the dentist to get the cavities fixed the fillings fall out and his teeth break. I hate it for him.. I mean really its so heart breaking he doesn't eat sugar at all and yet his teeth just crumble. Hes also really thin that was another one of the symptoms. He also has a very slow heart beat. His mom has this too. That's what got me thinking it could be a heart condition... His father was very thin as well everyone says he has good genes and hes naturally skinny but i don't think so. He scarfs down so much food- all he eats is spaghetti and pizza and he drinks water and the occasional soda. I was wondering if this could be hereditary and if he actually does have it are their any treatments? And how much do they cost? Thank you for helping me. I'm really concerned for my friend. <3
